Arts Kete

Arts Kete

Today in Arts Kete we made a short comic using Pixton, Pixton is a website where you can make your own characters and make your own comics. My comics aren't really that interesting; she was just in her room and then her Mum told her that her friend Shadow came. Earlier we brainstormed about, Cartoons/Characters/Animations/Anime/Comics and more. We then watched a video about Mickey Mouse over the years and how the art style and animation changed up to 2018.

Here is my Short comic(Unfinished).

I enjoyed making this comic but I did have some minor issues with using Pixton since it was my first time using it, I had to learn how to make the characters and move them, but overall it was pretty fun making it even though I didn't get to finish my comic.

Philippines Independence Week

Philippines Independence Week

Magandang Umaga everyone! this week is all about Philippines independence and history of how we gained freedom from the Spanish and U.S government.

Philippines Independence Day is always celebrated on June 12th, each year. Philippines Independence Day is a national holiday always celebrated in the Philippines, this day represents the day when the Philippines gained Independence.

On Philippines Independence Day every year, there would be parades walking down the road wearing national Philippines clothes and we would also make Noche Buena's(Feast), Karaokes and more. What food dishes are normally eaten in the Philippines while celebrating a holiday? In the Philippines, we have a lot of original dishes such as Biko, Sinigang, Balut, Lechon, Halo-Halo and more.

Here is a picture of the Philippines flag, the three stars symbolize the main islands called, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The blue stripe represents Peace, truth and justice, while the red stripe represents Patriotism and valour. When the Blue stripe is at the top it means Philippine is in Peace, If the red stripe is at the top it represents that the Philippines is at war.

There are three important K's which mean Kataas-taasang, Kagalang-galangang and Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan, in short KKK.

In English, it symbolizes "Supreme and Venerable Association of the Children of the Nation".

Freeze Frame(2020)

Freeze Frame(2020)

Today in Drama we made a freeze-frame and also did a thought tracking about a story called "Mohawk", the people that were in my group was, Liyah, Artee, Nevaeh and Finau. the scene we did a freeze-frame on was when the boy with the mohawk was standing and people were talking about his hair, that his hair was ugly and weird.

Artee was playing the boy with the mohawk
The others including me were playing the people who were gossiping about his hair.

For the thought tracking I said, Ew, look at his hair it looks ugly, while the other person said, look at his hair.

What is a freeze-frame? A freeze-frame is a single frame that describes the motion of an image from a movie, novel, etc.

What is Picture dictation? A picture dictation is a single frame that represents the actions and emotions of a whole scene but instead created into a single frame that represents it all.

What is a Role on a wall? A role on a wall is an outline of a body of some sort that explains the actions, emotions and personality of it, it's like a Character description except it only says the emotions and actions of it.

What is an Iceberg? an Iceberg identity is your identity that people know about while the other part is where things that people don't know about you like your, birthday, how many siblings you have, etc). the part of the Iceberg that is visible is where the things people know of you that are common while the bottom that is hidden(under the water) is where people you know other than your family barely know example, Height, Favorite games

What is Hot Seating? Hot seating is where a person or character is questioned by the group about his thoughts, behaviour and motivation. it can also be questions about a certain character like:
what would you do if you were the Mother and you saw your child drowning?

Here us the video we made asking "I" some questions.

The Bullet (Hurumanu 2)

"The Bullet": Questions

This blog post is about a story called "The Bullet", it's a story about This story is about a boy who is bullied in his new school and faces decisions that could change the
the course of his young life.

Do you think Rodney cares who or what the bullet was meant for? Why do you think that? I think the reason why Rodney thought that if he kept the Bullet and showed it, so people would stop bullying him.

What clues can you find in the text that will help you to understand why the boy with black hair might be with the police now? The clues that I can find were that polices handcuffed him and are arresting him for possession of an offensive weapon.

Why doesn’t he look cool any more? What has changed? The reason why Rodney doesn't think it's cool anymore is that he learned that carrying a bullet is a danger to people and himself and could lead to consequences if the police figured out.
What is Charmaine’s opinion of the boy? What does she mean by “guys like him”? Do you agree with her? Why or why not? I agree with Charmaine's opinion since it's true that a lot of people do get into trouble for causing problems.
What do you think Rodney has learned from the events in the story? I think Rodney has learned that carrying bullets, any dangerous weaponry is not cool and can cause problems to other peoples health and his health.
What do you think the author’s theme or message was? What is your response to this? I think the purpose of this novel is to teach that any possession or illegal doings can cause issues to peoples safety and yourself.

Why is Arbor day important for NZs environment? Arbor day is important for New Zealand because trees give us oxygen, they also provide us with the materials for tools and shelter(Replanting after) and also provide us with nutritious fruits.

what are some ways we see HHS helping with environmental/Arbor Day? HHS students(including me) celebrate Arbor Day by planting trees, out in the garden.

♡ My Strength Cards ♡

♡ My strength cards ♡

This blogpost is about some of my strengths, well not all of them represent me. For example, I’m not that energetic and have a lot of enthusiasm but for me, these are strengths I chose because these suited me the most out of all the strengths that teacher asked us to choose.

Here is a slide about my Strengths ⇓
(Disclaimer: Some things didn't fully load, Example ⇒ ༄).

I really enjoyed making this slide, I tried to make it with using my own ideas. For example, I added gifs(anime), pictures, drawings, quotes, border dashes(which are the lines around the text) and some other things! Overall I like making things original, well things that I think about and like.
