Arthritis Research Blog

 Arthritis Research Blog

What is Arthritis? Arthritis is an inflammation of the joints in the human body that causes pain, stiffness, tenderness, burning, and you might feel it start to swell. It starts to worsen with age over time. The first sign of Arthritis is constant pain, also called Arthralgia.

What are the Symptoms of Arthritis? The first sign starts by feeling a repeated pain in any part of the joints, then it would start to swell and you would start to feel stiffness in one or multiple joints. At daylight, you would feel morning pain and stiffness for at least an hour. Sometimes fevers, weight loss, fatigue, and maybe anemia.

What causes Arthritis? Arthritis develops by an infection or an injury in the joints that can exacerbate the natural breakdown of cartilage tissue. What treatment can cure Arthritis? Pain-killers can reduce pain but have no effect on inflammation.

Is cracking your fingers bad for you? Cracking your knuckles doesn't cause Arthritis and is not harmful. But over time cracking your knuckles does soften your grips and can lead to soft tissue swelling.

Zombie Apocalypse

Zombie Apocalypse

A few days ago we were assigned to make 10 mini posters or less about 10 survival rules on a Zombie Apocalypse from the film series, Zombie Land. The 10 zombie rules that I've chosen were, rule #8 Get a kick-ass partner, rule #28 Double-knot your shoes, rule #17 Don't be a hero (later crossed out to be a hero). I did choose a few more but I never really got to make mini-posters of each one. The reason why I had picked these were since you're in a Zombie Apocalypse, it's better to partner up with someone who you can trust when in life-threatening situations. Double knotting your shoes are actually very helpful in Zombie Apocalypses if a mob of zombies is chasing you, you would need to sprint/run really fast, the worst-case scenario you could trip on your shoelaces. For rule #17 being a hero in Zombie Apocalypses can sometimes lead to your death especially if you rush in without a plan.

(Made using Piktochart) Here is one of my posters:

What I like to do over the weekends

What I like to do over the weekends:

I have a lot of things I like to do over the weekends, I like to call them my daily hobbies. One of the things I really like to do over the weekends is drawing, most of the time I like to draw mostly fictional characters from shows I enjoyed and loved. I also like to draw my own inspired original characters, one show I really enjoyed was Naruto, Naruto was one of the first Anime shows I ever watched as a kid. Naruto had characters you can love, An amazing plot, it taught you about friendship, leadership and so much more! Right now I am taking an art class in school to learn more about anatomy, facial expression, drawing landscapes (scenery, vanishing point).

I usually sometimes draw twice a day just to improve more. Before I draw I would do my normal routine, taking a shower with just the right amount of heat then after I would prepare breakfast with my mother, sometimes cook some of our meals, and set up the plates on the table. I would also wash the dishes after but sometimes my older brother would wash them. After that, I would normally just relax, either watching shows like One Piece, Attack on Titan, Horimiya, and a lot more. But we also sometimes go out to places like the city, Westfield, Hub and sometimes to visit my parent's friends with their children. When we go to places like Westfield, the city, etc) We normally go shopping a lot of times, clothes, food, and sometimes for furniture, sometimes we also go out to a restaurant for either dinner and lunch.

Then on Sundays, we normally always go to church at 10 am or 8 am but sometimes at night in case we wake up a bit late for church. After we go to church we take a little visit to the Westfield to buy lunch since our church ends at around 11 in the afternoon. Then after I just relax at home doing the same things but also playing volleyball to practice my serves and I would also play games like, Genshin Impact, Genshin Impact is a game I really love to play almost every day, after I go to school and before I go to school.

2021 Term 1 Reflection:

 2021 Term 1 Reflection:

This year my goals are more focused on academic subjects and also on my wellbeing. For my academic goal,  I chose to improve more on my art, anatomy, designs, positions, and facial expressions. being able to construct a one-of-a-kind art style. For my physical well-being, I chose to improve more on my serves in volleyball, like practising more on my float serves, underarm serves and upper hand serves.

I've been a student in Hornby since 2019 and on my first day back in school for 2021, it was pretty exciting meeting my new wanaga class, although I was pretty sad that I didn't get to be in the same class as my friends, I guess I'm fine with being in a new class and I atleast got to make a new friend.
