WRITE THAT ESSAY #2

The "ed" sentence

try starting your sentence with the ed form of the verb. H makes for a punchy start to a sentence.

Remember the rule: When you have finished your ed phase, place a comma then write a test of the sentence.

Some- ed words - Surprised, excited, angered, possessed, committed, electrified, Horrified

Examples: "determined to win Tony pushed himself in the last meters of the sprint."

"Concerned for the well-being of the others, the prime minister passed new laws. "

"Committed to working, she focused really hard to complete the work "

Angered by a classmate, I punched a pillow in my room.

Horrified by a ghost, I quickly ran away.

Shocked by the sound, I fell off my chair.

Surprised by the visit of my brother, I ran and hugged him.

Determined to be successful in all my subjects, I stayed up till 3:00 am studying.

In the "power" sentence

if you waffle a lot of your writing, try using a power sentence. Begin your paragraph with a power sentence of 12 words or less. Get straight to the point.

Examples: 

"Money is the most of all evil"

"What is right, isn't always popular"

Friends aren't always true to each other.

Athletics is tiring.

Alexis is Joseph's lost sister.

Alexis has a crush on someone.

Pineapple on pizza is disgusting,

The "W" Sentence, try starting your sentence with a "w" word. These sentences make your work sound thoughtful & Knowledgable.

Remember the rule: not every "w" word works as a sentence starter. remember to put your comma in when the parts of the sentence affected by your "w" are finished.

Some "w" words you can use: who, while, whilst, whereas, when, where, what, with, whom.

Example: Whilst the teacher was talking, the students were pretending to listen. 

With a majority of the vote, Hitler seized power.

 When the bell rings, we run to the class.

Must do 2-3: 

When eating a piece of cake, the girl suddenly choked desperately. Whereas she had her friend help her pat her back to stop her from choking, she was saved. 

With the most votes for being a representative as the class president, Rheane was pressured into making difficult decisions.

While staring at the glistening stars, fireworks had appeared in the sky.

Should do 4-6

Whilst sleeping really late, the girl had to face the consequences of getting late the next day.

What Chloe did was unacceptable, leaving her to face a harsh punishment from the school.

Try starting the sentence with the -ing form of the verb.

Remember the rule: When you have finished your -ing phase, place a comma, then write the rest of the sentence.

Sane words you can use: Listening, Watching, running, reciting, realizing, engaging, grasping, speaking, etc)

Example: realising the danger, people fled from the others. Shaking away the nerves, he approached the microphone. Emergency from the water, the swimmer was greeted with cheers.

Must do 2-3 

Starring in a movie was Jane's dream, now that she's older her dream has changed.

Lying down in the grass, he felt something bite him.

Speaking in public was Jack's worst fear, recently he overcame that fear.

Standing in front of the stage his eyes glistened, slowly looking at his surroundings.

Today in Health we had to play different games such as Uno, connect four, and more! We decided to play Uno and Go Fish. Today I wasn't able to use any Warm Fuzzies but my friends helped me with Go Fish since I haven't played it in a long time. If I could do this game again I would've planned how I was gonna play/ create a strategy. I think the level I was working on in Helisons model today was level 2.

Children under 14 should still be allowed cell phones.

• Incase of emergency, children can contact their guardians through their cell phones.

Last week we had to make a slide about a country's government for example if a country is ruled by its own people it's known as democracy. My partner and I decided to write about the North Koreas government, Kim Jong-un. Something I learned while doing this project is the different types of government like oligarchy, anarchy, etc) I learned more about North Korea's government and how Kim Jong-un became North Korea's dictator, and the reason for his actions.

Dogs are a lot easier and better to have pets than cats

• dogs are a lot better to have as pets the reason is that dogs are a lot more friendly.
• cats normally just sleep and eat and they become very feisty when you try to interact with them. 
•  dogs you can build a friendship, sometimes they can even protect you in dangerous situations. You can teach dogs different tricks, take them on walks, bathe them, and more!
• Cats don't like taking walks, They scratch furniture around the house, couches, rugs, walls, etc). Sometimes cats would bring dead animals such as birds, insects, and reptiles.
